In the summer of 1936 Arnoldo MONDADORI received a package from America containing the new game published by Parker Brothers a year earlier, together with a letter inviting the publisher to purchase the rights to publish an edition of the game in Italy. This is the beginning of the history of Monopoly in Italy.
